Acne is considered the most common skin disorder, affecting people of all age groups. It is caused by the bacterium propionibacterium acnes and can be triggered by hormonal changes in your body.

 Acne is caused by the oil gland. Acne usually appears in puberty, and it can sometimes last until adulthood. There are three types of acne, acne vulgaris, scarring acne, and cystic acne.

If acne scars and marks if not treated early they may worsen the skin. Especially oily skin type people who have acne-prone skin.

In this article, we will discuss the general causes of skin problems or a disease called acne.

 

Causes Of Acne or Causes Of Having Acne-Prone Skin -

1.   Excess oil production

It is one of the main reasons or causes of having acne. Hair follicles present in the inner layer of the skin get clogged due to excess sebum (oil) production and the availability of dead skin cells. It causes acne.

 

2.   Hormonal Changes

The hormonal changing period is mostly seen during pregnancy and puberty. During these days one may have acne-prone skin and acne scars and marks as well.

 

 

3.   Stress

Cortisol hormone releases when we are suffering from stress. Stress increases the sugar level in the body and makes our skin dull. and it also causes acne scars, pimples, acne marks, etc.

 

4.   Diet

Improper food intake in excess like junk food, fast food, oily, spicy, etc. May also help in triggering acne and pimples. So, make sure you are having a healthy diet to avoid acne.

 

5.   Pollution and Exposure To Ultraviolet Rays

Pollution contains harmful germs, bacteria, and viruses that hamper the skin's health. And we all know that sun rays (ultraviolet rays) are too harmful to our skin. So, exposure to these rays may also be the cause of acne and ultimately acne scars and marks as well.

 

6.   Other Medications

If one takes an excess dosage of tablets or medicines may also be the cause of acne.

 

  1. Excess use of makeup products that contain harmful chemicals ultimately leads to acne and afterwards acne scars and marks.

Tiny bumps appear around the nose and chin area due to clogged but open pores which may be called blackheads.it is full of dirt, impurities, sweat, etc. The cause behind blackheads is not properly washing face after roaming outside, or not washing face with proper face wash.

 

2.   Whiteheads -

This typically occurs due to close pores with bacteria, oil, and dead skin cells. Not painful but looking dull.

 

3.   Papules -

It occurs when impurities clogged into the hair follicles.it causes pain and is full of pus.

 

4.   Nodules -

Red bumps that occur on our faces are called nodules.it is also painful and has swelling too.

 

5.   Cystic Acne -

It is the next level of nodules.it is deeply rooted in the inner layer of the skin. It is too painful among all the above acne types.

 

A.  Natural Remedies -

1.   Aloe Vera

This plant has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties which help in reducing acne, acne scars her skin issues too. It makes our skin smooth and supple.

Just daily apply aloe vera pulp on your face. within a week you will see the difference in your skin.

 

2.   Lemon And Honey

Lemon and honey work wonders for acne-prone skin. Lemon and honey both the ingredients have antiseptic properties which heal acne and acne scars faster. Just take half a lemon, squeeze it and add half a tablespoon of honey, mix it well and apply it daily to cure acne.

 

B. Other Options to Cure Acne & Acne Scars -

1.   Laser Treatment

It is quite a costly treatment but effective in treating acne and acne scars. This treatment stimulates collagen production.

 

2.   Chemical Peel

This is quite a risky treatment option. It is a procedure where a chemical solution is applied to the affected area.

4.   Activated Charcoal -

Using a charcoal face mask helps in removing dirt and impurities from the skin, which ultimately helps in reducing acne formation.

 

5.   Clay -

Another magical ingredient for acne-prone skin is clay. Multani mitti or fuller's earthworks like magic for acne and acne scars.
