Skin Type

For oily skin, it's very suitable
For combination skin, apply a moisturiser first and then BHA.
For dry skin, AHA can be better suited, But you can apply it if needed to but with a moisturiser. BHA can be a bit drying and may irritate if your skin is dry if you are not using proper moisturiser. With a proper moisturiser, you can always use BHA.

For Dehydrates skin Lactic Acid is better but if you want to use Salicylic Acid, you can apply few drops of squalane to ensure that salicylic acid doesnt dry your skin.

Notes

How is it different from Chemical Peels?

Chemical peels are very high strength peels like 20-50%. This is a more gentle acid that exfoliates without being harsh.

Can it help with Shaving Bumps?

yes, it can be sure to apply a proper moisturiser after the serum. Alternatively Lactic Acid can also Help with Shaving bumps.

Can we use BHA serum mix with gel moisturizer?

For oily skin you don't need any moisturiser with BHA. But for dehydrated skin you have to use a moisturiser with oils or you can add squalane with BHA.

BHA + Moisturiser

1. This BHA is an acid and the use of a moisturiser is necessary especially for combination skin or dry skin.

2. Using it with only gels like aloe-vera gel can be drying to your skin based on your skin type. so follow up with a proper cream instead of gels only.

3. If you prefer to use only Gel-based moisturiser or Aloe gel you can add 1-2 drops of Squalane to the gels and use as a moisturiser.

4. This is important if your skin is combination or dehydrated.

Store in at room temperature, no need to keep in a fridge

Good

I have combination to oily skin with one or two acne. Its quite a decent product for any type of skin except dry skin. Do patch test
Directions: Do patch test first and then start mixing only 2 drops of BHA serum with your moisturiser and apply it. Increase the quantity little by little and gradually use the serum twice per week.
Pros
1. You can notice a smooth skin the very next day
2. Blackheads do disappear if used for six months consistently.
3. It is not a potent serum so can be used for Combination skin types also.

Cons:
1. The bottle do leak so make sure you close it tightly while you're travelling.
2. I didn't see any reduction in acne in terms of size and also number. I always got one or two acne before my periods or when I eat dark chocolate. Am getting that acne every month even after using this serum.
3. If you want to use it for keratosis pilarisis this serum is not the one for you as it is meant for face only. Use a salicylic based cleanser it works wonders.
Be patient and I suggest to use this serum for atleast six months. It do work as it is kind of gentle skin exfoliator.
Also food plays an important role sometimes. If you're getting acnes suddenly check what you're eating especially MILK or dairy products.

Good

Suganda's BHA serum is the serum I have ever tried, so I can't compare its efficacy with some other brands. I had pimples and clogged pores ever since my adolescence but started noticing this during this lockdown period. When I started going outside wearing mask, my pimples began to spread all over my cheeks and chin. I was worried because it was severe. Done researches on products for acne issues. Reviews from famous beauty vloggers like Shweta Vijay Nair and Jovita George gave me the confidence to try out a chemical exfoliant. Came across several positive reviews on suganda's products on these vloggers' YouTube channels and I bought one. I have been using this serum for almost 7 weeks and I should say this works very well on my skin. I can see a huge difference. Pimples reduced. Extraction seems easy these days. But the acne marks are still there, as the acne I had, were very deep. As long as the mask is necessary, new pimples come and go, and the cycle continues. Looking forward to try the 10% Niacinamide serum.

Quite satisfied

This is the first time I am using a BHA, and it worked fantastically for me. I use it twice a week at night, after cleansing and toning my face, leave it for 15-20 mins, and then follow up with a nice, thick moisturizer and seal the deal with a facial oil. My skin feels so smooth and nice, and there's definitely a glow in my face the next day. I have been using it for about 2 months now, and quite happy with the product. Although my blackheads are not completely gone, I do feel like there's some reduction there. As for acne, it might dry up a new, tiny acne, but for hormonal acnes, topical treatments are just not enough. For the first few uses, I mixed it with squalane or my moisturizer for my skin to adjust to the product. I didn't suffer from any irritation, dryness or purging. I had been trying out an AHA from another brand, and my skin had already gone through the purging phase, so may be that's why I didn't have any problems with this product. Make sure you do a patch test though before trying any new actives. Overall a great product, definitely worth a dry even for dry skin people.

QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Ask a Question
  • Hie so i have a combination skin with small bumps, whiteheads and blackheads on my face should i use an aha or a bha serum?

BHA is an excellent choice for your issue. BHA can also be drying on combination skin , so we request you to use BHA with a hydrating moisturiser ( White lotus moisturiser )

  • My mom has acne scars....will bha work???

BHA exfoliates skin and reduces Acne due to its anti bacterail properties.
But for your mom, Helichrysum Serum may be a better option along AHA Exfolaiting serum.

  • I don't have acne , but I've bumps on my face and uneven skin texture , should I use the AHA or the BHA serum?

    AHA works better for you.
